I started a little askew because I couldn't find a space that felt like us. Most content for women and families over 50 felt either too serious or too perfect. Nothing that spoke to a fit, fashion-forward, food-loving Irish-Italian from Chicago who also happens to be navigating life with a husband in a wheelchair, a teenage daughter, and a deeply held belief that the second act, even if a little off, is the best one.
So I built it.
Meet my people
Let me introduce you to my people.
Megan
52, petite, loud about the things that matter, and apparently still paddling upstream in one way or another.
Rob
55, stay-at-home dad, grocery extraordinaire, and the funniest person in any room he rolls into. Born with a tethered spinal cord undiagnosed for over four decades. Two surgeries later — the last in 2023 — he navigates the world from a wheelchair with more grace and humor than most people manage on two legs.
Lucy
14, a cheerleader, a soccer player, a ferocious beauty product critic, and my absolute favorite person to shop with. She is also, technically, a little Askew — which is exactly where this whole thing got its name.
Wilson the Wonder Dog
Goldendoodle. Wonder Dog. Never leaves my side. The best thing to happen to us in years, and the undisputed star of the show.
Together we are a lot of fun, really fierce, and — as we like to say around here — just a little askew.
The Canuck Can Cook
The funniest person in any room he rolls into.
Rob is Canadian, the family's grocery extraordinaire, and somehow the funniest person in any room he rolls into. His page is half his story, half what's coming out of the kitchen — and entirely worth the visit.

My name is Megan Baldino. I'm 52, a published author, a former journalist and PR executive, and a petite Irish-Italian girl from Chicago who has never once done things exactly as expected.
