I've lived a lot of lives.

About Megan

PR executive. Published author. Former Journalist. Adventurer. Mom. Wife to a hot guy in a wheelchair. Dog mom. And now — storyteller of the most interesting chapter yet.

Some of you know me. Most of you don't. Yet.

My name is Megan Baldino. I'm 52, a published author, a former journalist and PR executive, mom, wife to a hot guy in a wheelchair and a petite Irish Italian girl from Chicago who has never once done things exactly as expected.

I paddled 2,000 miles down the Yukon River and wrote a book about my journey. I built careers in newsrooms and boardrooms. And now I'm doing the most exciting (and terrifying) thing I've ever done — building something completely our own.

The Credentials

A woman with long brown hair, smiling, wearing a light blue top and jewelry, sitting on a chair against a dark background.

This is “a little askew”.

A space for women and families who are living perfectly, imperfect lives after 50. For honest conversations about health and strength and surviving when life throws you a massive curveball, like a life-changing surgery that left my husband in a wheelchair. This is for family stories that are really messy and funny and true. For travel that proves a wheelchair is never a reason to stay home. For fashion that actually works on a real body, mine and the guy in the wheelchair!

Speaking of which — meet my people. My husband Rob, 55, is handsome, hilarious, and navigates the world from a wheelchair with more grace than most people manage on two feet. My daughter Lucy, 14, is a cheerleader, a soccer player, and the actual little Askew in this family. Wilson the Wonder Dog is always wondering about how he landed with us.

Together we are a lot of fun, really fierce, and just a little askew.

Welcome. I think you're going to like it here.

A woman, a young girl, and a man smiling for a photo in a hospital room.
A family of three adults, one man, one woman, and one young woman, sitting together with their golden retriever dog against a black background.
Three people in costumes with a golden retriever dog inside a house. One girl is dressed as a cartoon character with orange hair and a blue dress, standing on the left. A man in a yellow shirt and brown pants is seated in the middle. A woman in an orange dress and glasses is holding a red apple and standing on the right, with the dog sitting and looking up.

Meet my people

Let me introduce you to my people.

M

Megan

52, petite, loud about the things that matter, and apparently still paddling upstream in one way or another.

R

Rob

55, stay-at-home dad, grocery extraordinaire, and the funniest person in any room he rolls into. Born with a tethered spinal cord undiagnosed for over four decades. Two surgeries later — the last in 2023 — he navigates the world from a wheelchair with more grace and humor than most people manage on two legs.

L

Lucy

14, a cheerleader, a soccer player, a ferocious beauty product critic, and my absolute favorite person to shop with. She is also, technically, a little Askew — which is exactly where this whole thing got its name.

Wilson the Wonder Dog

Goldendoodle. Wonder Dog. Never leaves my side. The best thing to happen to us in years, and the undisputed star of the show.

Together we are a lot of fun, really fierce, and — as we like to say around here — just a little askew.
